Overview
Apex scaled from two product teams to ten in a year. Every team shipped UI slightly differently, and the product started to show it. They needed a system, not more guidelines.
The approach
We inventoried every component in production, merged duplicates, and rebuilt the core set on design tokens — color, type, spacing, motion — so themes and rebrands become config changes, not redesigns. Documentation lives next to the code.
The result
Ten teams now ship from one source of truth. UI consistency stopped being a review topic, and the system survived a full rebrand with a one-day token swap.
